ABOUT OUR DOCTORS
JOHN A. NORTH, DVM
Dr. North was born and raised in the Bridgewater area and graduated from Somerville High School in 1960. He received his B.A. from Amherst College in 1964 and his veterinary degree from Cornell University in 1968. He joined the staff in 1970 with his late father Dr. Arthur F. North. He has a special interest in surgery and OFA x-rays. He was a partner in the practice since 1971 and the sole owner since 2001. He has one lovable cat, Bill.
SUSAN T. LAEVEY, VMD
Dr. Laevey graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She also received a B.S. degree in Cytology from Kean University in 1984. She has been practicing small animal medicine at the Somerset Veterinary Group since 1993.
LINDA J. PIFFER, DVM
Dr. Piffer graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University in 1988. She has practiced in New Jersey since then and has been with Somerset Veterinary Group since 1993. She has special interest in the nutritional management of disease and the use of herbs and supplements as adjuncts to therapy. She lives in Middlesex with her husband, Lou and their daughter, Julia.
COLLEEN R. MILLER, DVM
Dr. Miller attended Cook College, Rutgers University, where she received her B.S. degree in Animal Science in 2000. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Miller was admitted to Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she made the Dean's List and was inducted into the Phi Zeta National Honor Society. She has been an associate veterinarian at Somerset Veterinary Group since 2006. Dr. Miller has two cats, Pete and Rudy and two rabbits, Julius and Julia.
LISA H. GOLDMAN, VMD
Dr. Goldman received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining SVG, she practiced in Annapolis, MD and Olympia, WA. She is excited to be back in NJ where she grew up. Her areas of interest include dermatology, feline medicine and behavior. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two children and tabby cat, Sophie.
LIV L. WALLIN, DVM
Dr. Wallin grew up in NJ and attended Cook College at Rutgers University. She graduated with a degree in Animal Science. She attended veterinary school at the University of Florida and graduated in 2004. She continued on to an internship at Florida Veterinary Specialists in Tampa. She has worked in general practice as well as in emergency medicine. She also had the wonderful opportunity to work for a year and a half in beautiful New Zealand. She enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, horseback riding, snowboarding and relaxing at home with her two kitties Riley and Isabella and puppy, Charlie. She is looking forward to settling down in her original home state of NJ and is excited to work with the kind and caring staff of Somerset Veterinary Group!
